THIS IS A COLLEGE LEVEL CLASS: The purpose of the Advanced Placement in Psychology is to introduce students to the systematic and scientific of the behavior and mental processes of human beings. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles and phenomena associated with each of the major sub-fields of psychology. Students successfully mastering the course material may earn college credit by passing the annually administered AP Psychology Exam; the individual college or university determines how many, or, if any credits will be granted for the AP exam score.

David Meyers' Psychology for AP (above left) is our current textbook. An earlier edition can be made available by hyperlinking on the Psychology (left). It provides you access (pdf) to a textbook wherever you are located, as long as you have internet access. The Study Guide (right image) is supplements the textbook (pdf). In addition, John Green's Crash Course videos (right) and Mr. Clark's AP Psychology Podcasts (left) should enhance your study of AP Psychology in preparation for the national exam. You'll also find outlines (Wikinotes) which will only add to your understanding of the overall material. You can also use Alleydog which accesses resources for students, to include a glossary, quizzes, forums, and annotated links. Annenberg Learner (left) is a video instructional series on introductory psychology for college and high school classrooms and adult learners; 26 half-hour video programs. To add more to our discussion, Denison University Brain Facts podcasts covers a more indepth analysis of our topics covered this year. Study.Com (far top right) is an online college psychology course which includes 14 Chapter videos which nicely correspond to our own book. Feel free to reinforce what you learn in your textbook with the available videos. |
